In mythology Sagittarius is often associated with the mythological figure of Chiron, a centaur who taught and tutored various heroes in Greek myth. In Greek mythology, centaurs were adventurous, brave, and wise; they were also given to brawling and uncivilized behavior. Sagittarius is also associated with the Greco-Roman god Zeus/Jupiter and sometimes the goddess Tyche/Fortuna and the Norse god Thor.
